I continue to hear stories from constituents with Medicare Advantage plans about how insurance companies continue to override the decisions of their doctors and deny them care.

This is flat-out unacceptable—doctors should be making your medical decisions, not multi-billion dollar corporations.

Americans—regardless of their political party—have seen videos of yesterday’s horrifying incident in Minnesota. It is a pattern we have seen with our own eyes.
January 25, 2026 at 5:54 PM
This is outrageous. ICE is out of control—acting with reckless violence and impunity that has caused the death of another US citizen. ICE has lost all credibility. Their actions are making us less safe and undermining the important role of local law enforcement in fighting crime.
Man shot dead by federal immigration officers in Minneapolis
The incident, which was caught on video, marks the second deadly shooting by federal officers in Minneapolis in less than a month.

My statement on voting against today's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appropriations package:

At a time when Americans are struggling to afford skyrocketing healthcare costs, it’s vital that we do all we can to make care more affordable.

That’s why I introduced a bill with @budzinski.house.gov to lower co-pays and deductibles for millions of Americans.

Trump’s attempt to take over Greenland is reckless and extremely damaging to our national security and our standing in the world.

He is alienating our closest allies, making our country less safe, and escalating trade wars that will only make life more expensive for all of us.

We deserve better.
Trump's Greenland threats spark outrage from EU and test longtime NATO alliance
President Donald Trump's push to control Greenland has sparked major tensions with Europe. Leaders there are warning Trump's threat of tariffs over Greenland policy could damage the NATO alliance.

Not a single employee has been hired since the Trump Administration lifted their hiring freeze at the Bonneville Power Administration.

The Trump Administration must fix their DOGE firing mistakes and hire up NOW to keep up with the demands of our grid and keep the lights on in the northwest.
