These indiscriminate federal firings by the Trump Administration will harm constituents in my district, and other communities like mine without saving a dollar for taxpayers. It's just more evidence of bad faith as Americans stare at exploding health costs and our military risking missed paychecks.

A senior couple earning $82,800 a year could face a 236% increase in their premiums. A family of four earning $64,000 a year could face a 226% increase in their premiums. People will lose their health insurance, or It will become unaffordable. This is a life and death issue in Ohio.

The government is shut down and our farmers need us to deliver aid and support for them NOW. The Trump Tariffs got us here, and now Speaker Johnson must convene Congress for bipartisan negotiations to reopen government, and help surge aid to our farmers, producers, and growers.

90 years ago, UAW Local 14 was founded on the simple but powerful belief that when working people stand together—when they insist on respect, fairness, and dignity—together we can move mountains. Our universities help to educate and advance humankind, and research dollars are not a quid pro quo agreement. No institution should have to sign a partisan political pact to ensure the flow of the vital funding they use to advance the health and wellbeing of Americans and teach the next generation.
