Had a great time welcoming seniors from Anthony Wayne High School to DC. We talked about civics, what we’re working on in Congress to make life better in NW Ohio, and what’s ahead for them after graduation. Exciting to hear about their future plans as they wrap up high school!

President Trump campaigned on bringing down grocery prices day one, but it’s almost Thanksgiving and prices are up. Household budgets are being carved up alongside the Thanksgiving turkey. Families are paying 40% more for tin foil to wrap leftovers, 22% more for cranberry sauce and the list goes on.

This violent rhetoric is unbecoming of the Presidency and dangerous in a time of heightened political violence. We all need to lower the temperature. Dangerous distractions when we should be working to lower costs and make life more affordable for hardworking American families are just wrong.

In a nearly unanimous vote, Congress has finally acted to release the Epstein Files. I hope the President will hold true to his promises and ensure their swift release. Sunshine is the best disinfectant, and victims deserve justice.
225 years ago, Congress first convened in Washington DC. I hope that once we finally are able to vote to release the Epstein files this week that the House can swiftly bring itself to do something meaningful to address the affordability challenges so many American families face day in and day out.

NW Ohio farmers, producers, growers, ranchers, and consumers deserve consistent trade policies that don’t shift with political winds or whims. When our markets lack certainty, it becomes harder to get ahead, guarantee the bottom line, and afford to pay at the check out counter.

50 years ago today, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior during a violent storm. From 1958-75, this Great Lakes freighter carried iron ore from Duluth to Detroit, Toledo, and other Great Lakes ports. Today, we remember and honor the life and legacy of the 29 souls lost.
