This is an incredible answer, but I am currently too overwhelmed with the fact that this is how I found out Animorphs had a throughline plot and wasn’t just an anthology series about random kids turning into animals like some kind of nancy drew for furries

K.A. Applegate responded with amongst the most brutal letters I've read.

It takes a generational talent to tell your fans "If you're mad at me because that's what you have to take away from Animorphs, too bad."
