The impact this has on the clock crystal has not been tested.

Correct procedure:
Only cut into both sides to completely remove the top hat and replace it with a PCB. How quickly this can be done is shown from 00:16 onwards.

Only the final cuts are shown. Before that, the top hat (and unfortunately also the chip) was cut for about 2 minutes.
This is only a test to see how efficiently the Timekeeper can be cut apart.

Any tool or agent can become a disaster in unfamiliar hands ;)
You can also use acetone to make it stick together again and the cracks disappear. However, it is better to try it with something else first, as it melts everything if used incorrectly.
I always collect misprints from ABS and keep them. With these leftovers + acetone, I can make a repair paste.
