Tenants are talking about a 'DIY project gone wrong' as possible cause for the loud bang and the discovery of a dangerous crack at The Combe last night.
Camden is still investigating after the block was evacuated and residents were left sleeping on floor of Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre.

A crack in the 1950s building was discovered and structural experts advised that everybody had to leave the building right then for safety reasons. Inspections are still going on now. Fences up around the building. Residents who had quickly packed a pull-along cases are waiting to hear next step.

The evacuation of The Combe in Munster Square is a big incident. More than 150 residents told to leave their council flats in the tower at around 10.30pm. A third of them slept on the floor of the Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre. Firefighters had responded to a bang on the ninth floor of the tower.

John Prescott was an interesting one.
When Holborn and St Pancras came up, he backed the then council leader over Keir Starmer to be the Labour candidate.
He didn’t want ‘smooth talking politicians’…

Local members ignored his advice and Starmer became PM.

Camden Council has announced the public gallery will be closed for tonight's full council meeting after recent demonstrations.
The last one was brought to a standstill by Gaza protesters holding up pieces of paper spelling out 'genocide'.
