Hivemind, does anyone know anything about this campaign?
I got an email from them and don't recall signing up for anything.

I think it's wrong to describe the World Service as "soft power". It's actually "info power". And these days that's a very hard form of power indeed.

It is absolute and utter neglect to let this come this close to the wire just as the US has let most of its overseas broadcasting shutter.

Pants on fire.
Worked in a bank. Surprising how many people don't count cash properly. Topped my wage up nicely every time someone undercounted how much they were paying in, I counted it as a tip.

We bought Article II of the United Nations Charter with the blood of a hundred million human beings, and less than a century later, it's being sold for nothing by people who don't even understand what they're doing.
i think this is what drives me nuts. people talk about how, say, the UN was founded by "starry eyed idealists" who didn't understand "reality." the truth is that the UN was founded by those who had just fought and *won* the bloodiest war in human history.

He has yet to delete it, show humility, or confirm/deny if this means he in fact being paid to act like an idiot, or if he just does it free.

The correct figures are 160K (0.3%) and 900K (1.5%)
