I will say the true final boss was the cheesiest thing to me because (SPOILERS!!!) I couldn't stop thinking of how homecoming originally was gonna have alessa and joshua as like gods battling over toluca lake which has been shit on for YEARS and they basically did that it made me LAUGH

even just saying it's similar "thematically" kinda makes me go hmmmm I really think the culture shock has just thrown people off or maybe they aren't as knowledgable about the series as they think they are because there is SO MUCH direct referencing to the first one in particular
