Our Lord did not become a man and die and rise again so this country could have a “coherent cultural identity” and I am also not at all convinced that God created human beings in all their diversity in order to sort themselves out into homogenous lumps.

@robbsutherland.bsky.social and I seem both to have incurred a £100 fine as a result of following Google maps to get to our clergy study day. Tried to make us turn left where there was no left turn - so we ended up (separate vehicles) driving ahead onto the buses only. ⚓✝️
That’s the way to do it.
Saw this and thought of @robbsutherland.bsky.social. I believe that this frieze in Notre Dame in Paris is saying that after his resurrection Jesus appeared in a Punch & Judy show.
Am constantly annoyed by autoincorrect changing words that exist into other words. Like gig being changed to gif.
Our house is full of plague. I’ve passed my chest infection on to @thebassplayer.bsky.social. Have managed to find someone to cover Silverthorn’s gig tonight.
Anyone else having issues with the Sunday worship app? I’ve deleted it and reinstalled it. Same problem.
Three hours just disappeared in the blink of an eye!
We’re halfway through a full day mixing our upcoming EP, “Stronghold”. We’re really close to release!

Robert Jenrick is another person who has cooked his brain on Twitter (“Activist judges” is a very American-brained phrase, and I’m also sceptical that 30 judges and mags are really in favour of “open borders”, as opposed to a slightly more liberal regime, or just helping immigrants get their rights)
More in the breathless, breaking stop-the-presses, and not at all confected story, that judges, before they were judges, were involved in practising law. Take 5 seconds to appreciate just how hard into "swivel-eyed loon" Robert Jenrick is being allowed to lean:

Developing a chest infection was not on my list of things to do on annual leave.

Short version: You AREN'T paying your state pension. You paid for your parents' pension.

The 'kids today' and 'those immigrants' are paying your pension.
I picked the first couple of things that came to mind when I think heretic. If you can make them work, make them work, all power to your elbow.
Tonight we talked about Victoria Wood and how clever her comedy was. She was four years younger than my mum. When she was using a hostess trolley so was my Granma. I am feeling a bit old. And eying up a woman’s weekly.
VNV Nation is on the telly box. Fr Eddie must be in charge of the YouTube playlist again.
I have read the “Little Book of Heresy” and I’ve never had cause to apply it to you.

Yet.

I am very orthodox (little o) so I will reserve the right to declare you a heretic in the future.

If the need should arise.
Well @thebassplayer.bsky.social says she won’t do an acoustic version of Right Said Fred’s I’m Too Sexy with @robbandruth.bsky.social. What a killjoy.
Putting it out there and hang the consequences. We need to neuter the use of the word “orthodox” (small o) as a dog whistle for not inclusive. We need to start using it again without the dog whistle. Credal. Not a Donatist. Opposed to Arianism for example. Orthodox. Like me. And my 🌈 friends.

We’ve been on a little trip out. It seems we’ve accidentally started booking gigs as an acoustic duo covering songs from the 50s to now - anything we love where we can sing excessive harmonies.

As is usually the case, we went shopping for Ruth and came back with something for Robb.
This is the kind of headline where I am glad to see our tower blocks in the background. @holynativity.bsky.social @leeds.anglican.org
If it is, I couldn’t be bothered having cassocks with liturgically coloured piping 🤣
Have just seen a guy in St Peter’s Square with Green piping on his cassock. What’s that mean?

The Rapture is not a bloody long held myth, it’s a fundamentally twentieth century one (granted, its roots are in the nineteenth century but it didn’t get big till the twentieth), and it’s got nothing to do with the Catholic Church.
Escape from obligation.
Me and my mum at the Colosseum. Having a wonderful time talking about memories of my dad, my grandparents, when mum was growing up, life in the pit village when only one family had a TV and they all sat as kids cross legged watching it.
