The International Health Regulations are getting a makeover this Friday, and that means parties will have to establish or designate a new "National IHR Authority".

Cédric Apercé (Resolve to Save Lives) & I write in BMJ Global Health on why this new obligation matters.

Misinformation around the pandemic agreement & IHR amendments is rampant.

Grateful to @aapfactcheck.bsky.social for cutting through the noise. I spoke with them about why the amended IHR won’t erase national health sovereignty or human rights ⬇️

The ICJ Advisory Opinion on Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change livestream has begun.

The Court begins by concluding that the questions put to it are legal in nature and that it has jurisdiction to provide an Advisory Opinion.

“However regrettable, this announcement was anticipated, and UNESCO has prepared for it.” No layoffs anticipated, no shockwaves sent.

A strong, balanced retort to an easily baited and reactionary government. Would that this could have been the response of WHO too.

And now the peer reviewer has additional “minor” comments. On a comment. Lovely 🤣

Currently waiting for the final decision on a *comment* that’s been in peer review for over six months. Six months for a 1500 word, non-original “opinion” piece 🤷🏻‍♀️

Too much media in Canada is owned by large U.S. corporations.

Here’s a starter pack of independent Canadian outlets.
