I don’t believe in blocking but I won’t engage with people who resort to foul language. I posited a suggestion. You’re welcome to criticise it to your hearts content but I’m not interested in using swear words in a debate/argument nor in involving myself with people who do.
Sorry but nowhere did I ask for slaves - only a visa system which facilitates temporary migrant workers. I would be in favour of good pay and generous tax breaks.
Not at all. The visa system not working conditions on construction sites. The same visa system in the gulf countries also applies to professional expats - lawyers & accountants. No articles about them being poorly treated.
But that isn’t what we have done for the past five years. If we had it would be far better than the current situation. Most of the Boriswave don’t work and of those that do the majority will take more than they pay in.
Why is it stupid? Why should we grant people access to the NHS, social housing, etc just because they’ve been here for five years. We can’t afford it and with taxes going up there are better things we should spend the money on.
It depends on the immigration system. The UK should have a UAE style immigration system - work permits for a defined period, no citizenship or permanent residency, and no rights to bring dependents unless you meet a salary threshold. The Gulf countries have no shortage of workers in their hospitals.
Asylum seekers is a non-issue. The problem is the 2.6m legal migrants since 2020. You can’t have a population increase on that scale and it not have an impact on the country.
Temporary workers who will leave when they’re no longer needed or when they decide to go home. I would be in favour of giving them tax breaks. Their employers should cover their healthcare costs.
