I'm not saying the guy should still be trusted after this (read my other posts on it), but ffs. There's no point where a person is just good or bad forever.

Personal experience, I was maybe 29 or 30 when I finally woke up and started choosing to be a better person. It's not an overnight thing.

Yeah 29 is a full blown adult and by then they should know better, but that's irrelevant. There's not some magic age where a person's whole identity and belief structure solidifies into concrete forever.

I want to believe this guy changed, but people have every right to believe that he hasn't, and so far I don't think he's done enough to prove that he has.

Flashy vids and too-good-to-be-true messaging are enticing, but I hope someone better comes along that can be trusted.

I mean, as a guy who had to learn some shit and make some serious changes myself, I totally get how hard that trust is to earn.

I don't expect anyone, even now a couple of decades removed from when I was a shithead, to just take me at my word that I've changed. I have to earn that - every day.

Rightfully, he's lost any trust he had from potential voters, especially marginalized folks (assuming he had any to begin with) - and with Fetterman being a huge shitstain, it's unlikely he will get any of that back no matter what he does since the parallels are way too similar.

Yes, it was 12+ years ago, and it's possible he's changed his way of thinking. But he needs to show that - and back it up with some concrete evidence of what he's done and learned since then.
