According to City AM, the BBC is planning to bid for the 2027 Men's Rugby World Cup.

ITV has held the rights since 1991 but World Rugby is exploring offering multiple rights packages that could see both the BBC and ITV split the live rights.

On this week's Rugby Pod, PREM Rugby's Rob Calder revealed that there was a 7% increase in viewership on TNT Sports for the opening round of this year's PREM Rugby season, compared to the opening round last season.

The URC has announced that BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru will be the exclusive home for live URC commentary for games involving Cardiff, Dragons RFC, Ospreys and Scarlets🎙

URC highlights will continue on Scrum V and will be available on the BBC website & app.

The new deal runs until 2027.

- 11% increase in total viewership
- Cumulative audience of 53 million
- Fourth season in a row where new TV audience record was set

I'd be very surprised if Sky didn’t renew as the summer internationals and the Rugby Championship are included.

City AM reported that some of the summer internationals could be bundled with the autumn fixtures when the new series kicks off next year though.
