Today's the centenary of Art Laboe's birth. He made enduring contributions to California's sonic landscape as a DJ, record label owner, & concert promoter. His promulgation of the phrase "Oldies But Goodies" helped create a genre of music that shows no signs of fading away.

Made the trip to Reign of Terror Haunted House in Thousand Oaks — worth every penny. The craftsmanship, scares, and atmosphere reminded me of Knott’s at its best, but packed into one continuous 30-minute walkthrough. Highly recommend for haunt fans this season.
