Shocked to learn from other members at our @nteuact.bsky.social union meeting today about apparent errors in org charts and position roles in ANU’s current change proposals to cut and redefine positions - are positions being cut and changed without knowing who does what and where?

Staff in CASS have been called into meetings and told their jobs are β€œat risk.” When they ask questions or request further information, they’ve been told to wait and ask those questions at a town hall tomorrow.

Now staff are being told in-person β€œtickets” for the town hall are β€œsold out”. 🫠
Really tough week in the ANU college of arts & social sciences. Committed, respected & highly impactful staff have been told their jobs are no longer & about 30 ppl are facing forced redundancy. It’s come as a complete shock to identified individuals. No consultation, no warning.

What are the dates Esteve? It didn’t say on the announcement πŸ™‚
Global average temperature is expected to rise to almost 2C above preindustrial in the next five years, according to the WMO, with falls in crop yields and more than a third of the world’s population being exposed to extreme heat.
