I know in some spaces we have A Reputation but we do genuinely accept critical thought. We often come off as defensive as the most common crit of HDG is "It's cringe / steven universe queer media", "it's problematic" or "I got banned from the discord server for breaking rules and am mad about that."

The setting absolutely has room for deconstruction/scrutiny and is far more complex and nuanced than merely a comfort setting. I really do not appreciate you publicly minimizing / disparaging a body of work that many very talented aurhors, myself includied have put a lot of thought and effort into
