Hello, bsky!
I'm Jeffrey, a queer and genderqueer multidisciplinary artist operating out of Kansas City, MO, USA.

I'm a jeweler, a novelist, an illustrator, a photographer, an occult blogger, and a public ritualist.

You can find my links in my profile (above) and in the thread below.

Thank you!

It's one of my favorite ideas for the world that I have not managed to fit more than obliquely into any of the stories I've yet written.

Tomorrow I should dig through my archives and share some of the blade dancer drawings I've done over the years.

Foot races, short and long are also popular. So are wrestling and archery.

Horse racing was invented not long after the introduction of horses, about 100 years ago, but is considered obscenely expensive and wasteful.

Wizard’s duels are too dangerous to be considered sport.

Blade dancers are usually among the best duelists from whatever school they were trained in, but they must also be accomplished dancers, capable of fighting for their lives while both following the arcane rules of the blade-dancing duel AND keeping to the beet provided by the drummers and musicians.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 10: Competitive game/sport
The chief competitive sport in the Compact of Nations is dueling. Each country has its own schools, leagues, rules, and traditions, but the most famous and prestigious is Vencari blade dancing.

Between layers, I kept working on the straps and buckle pieces, hurrying up what I could but without the definite measures the straps were tooled in two times... Made it work, though, but at this point I was starting to lose my head. Anyway, I love this fleur-de-lis style so much...
Pic of the volumes process of the buckle attachment pieces, two with only the border decoration marked with the swivel knife, two with the inner part tooled so the border pops up, and the last three beveled so the edge is rounded Pic of all the buckle attachment pieces tooled and beveled in what the upper side will be Pic of four short straight straps, same attachment decoration as the buckle pieces but only one third of the decorative border tooled Four more straps, a bit longer and way curved, before tooled but with one third of the decorative border marked with the swivel knife

Last evening at the 2025 New York Comic Con Harvey Awards. We are still in a mild state of happy shock at our induction into the Harvey Hall of Fame. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this ceremony THE event of our year!
