Just a small anecdote of Grilled doing shenanigans
“Damn it, your brother’s coming down here.”
Grilled grabbed the Encyclopaedia Daemonica out of Aubergine’s hands and shoved it into a lock box. Another recent procurement. Traveling merchants always had lock boxes. Grilled had gambled with a jewelry merchant with the prize being one of his lock boxes and the key if he won. Grilled’s win was inevitable; the game was rigged with trick cards and he had cheated. But he’d only gambled against that merchant once, so as to not arouse suspicions.
Grilled’s hands were back on his wrists before the wall spun to allow Garlic in.
“What are you doing here?” Grilled asked.
“What are you doing here?” Garlic huffed in annoyance. Anime style pic of Grilled, a character with long silver hair and detachable hands. He's wearing a brown waist coat, brown pants, and black and silver boots. He's also wearing a fedora hat. One of his hands is detached and pouring wine from a bottle into a glass in his other hand while he leans against a bar.

the interest of not provoking a *real* war, though still in Aloutian territory and with Aloutian security.

When there are demons present as players, they must ensure there are no Godlights in the vicinity which could kill the player if exposed to it for even ten seconds.

it spread to the other countries and they send their best players. It doesn't always work out that the final players are an Aloutian, an Ophidian, and a demon from the Makai, but when it does happen, it makes the new and generates a lot of interest.

Such competitions are usually held in Cosmo, in

Day 10: Competitive sport or game

Troika represents a three-way war in which there can only be one winner. The other two must be eliminated. The Aloutian Empire hosts official competitions to determine the best players in the dominion. Although the game was invented in Aloutia

Day 9

I'm gonna talk about troika this week! It's a three-person board game akin to chess that I invented for my fantasy world. To the people of my world, it's meant to mimic the three-way wars between Aloutia, Ophidia, and the Makai

I hope you got warm somehow. I hate coldness more than anything 🫂

to develop more complicated emotions about killing, and what it means to protect their family.

sister in particular.

However, it's gonna be a Thing that part of why they were tasked to become a merchant of dance is because, as a newborn, they had no moral compass. The idea of murder is "whatever" to them. They can kill and not feel anything about it. Over the course of the book, I want them

Tynan has two parents who are complex characters in their own right, four sisters, and two other relatives who live with them in the same "government-sponsored Godblood housing."

Their relationship with their sisters especially interests me because they will learn to love and be kind thanks to one

The thing about Tynan being born at the start of the book is that they have *zero* personality to start with. 😂 The most I can say they have is a default "desire to perform tasks in hope they will understand why it's good later"

It'll be fun to show them growing to love their family.

#PlotTober Day 9: MC personality & behaviors

Answer the prompt on the card by quoting this post. Remember, answering a prompt is always optional. Even if you don't share it publicly, I hope the prompt encourages you to think about it privately.

9. What are some personality traits and behaviors, both positive and negative, that you think would suit your main character(s)? How do these traits affect your main character's goals and motivations?

Remember: Use the #PlotTober hashtag, engage with others, and have fun!

What's really cool about that, imo, is that it's a very nontraditional "final battle." A battle of strategy and wits rather than a brawl

Thanks for this! I've been trying to learn more about your world, but there's SO much, I was struggling a bit (not a criticism on your part... I also have SO much 🤣). Maybe I missed it, but: what are the Beadaoga? You said there were 4 elvens, three humans, and them?
kiraofthewind.com
HA, I was picking up on what you were putting down😌
kiraofthewind.com
Unpredictable and aggravating... Oh man, imagining some of the more wrathful characters we've written, that can't end well 😅
kiraofthewind.com
that looks like SO much fun! And what a fun cosplay!

Hmm, sounds like he could do some sussy business with it, if he were an eviler person 🤔

Ooh, nice art!! What's going on with purplebro's eyes and hands?

A description of Takyu-city, from that time Peaches (here called Felli) and Grilled went there
Everywhere one looked, the vertical script of Takyu-shi, a language completely unrelated to any other, was everywhere—signs indicating the purpose of a building, advertisements, public notices. None of those signs provided translations into other languages, unlike some of the signs he’d seen around the inn. Grilled understood deep in his soul that Takyu City had been made for Takyufon and if he didn’t know their language, culture, and customs, he was not welcome.
Felli skated to a metal bench with a fuel pump. Grilled had learned to recognize them. Takyufon could insert a nozzle into an orifice near their hips which would pump a foul-smelling oil into their refining bones, where that oil was turned into the fuel needed to make them skate at hyperspeed. Peaches from the Good Thyme Inn books, a Takyufon, a person with roller blades for feet. They are tan-skinned, nonbinary, with pink tipped spiky hair, wearing a suit and tie. They have pink highlights all throughout their body and clothes
