My high school chem and phyics teacher was involved in the Manhattan project and met Oppenheimer. He also had Feynman as a teacher.

My dad was a tailgunner in WW2, stationed in GB for 18 months, flew sorties over Germany

I once owned a hard copy of Britannica. I still own a hard copy of Webster's 3rd, on its own dedicated stand.

On a single two-page spread you can find berdache and beothuk. Those two words can remarkably be contained in a single sentence.

After WW2, thanks to free public ed and the GI bill my ma became a teacher, my dad (tailgunner) became an engineer and kinda invented one branch of computers, dragged I/O cables from one side of a room to another to program.)
