I can imagine watching Mothra with subs was a little much for kids. Now that I think about it, I've never seen a dubbed Godzilla film in a theater. Always subs.

I can't disagree with you there. I grew up on the English dubs so I do prefer them but the subs are fine as well. I did watch Godzilla Minus One dubbed and the subtitled version is definitely better in that case.

I didn't see it until it was released on Criterion. I enjoyed it but I have a soft spot for the American version. It might be nostalgia clouding my judgment.

That's awesome. I would see these marathons pop up on Sunday afternoon on our WAXA Channel 40. It would usually be a couple of Godzilla films along with another film like The War of the Gargantuas. I would stay glued to the tv the whole afternoon.
