If you've never been to the brewery before, you may not know it's a bit of a museum. August Schell purchased this kettle in 1889 for $25000. Five years earlier he spent $5000 on his retirement home. Priorities, right?

It's not as hip as talking about breweries I suppose, but the fact that we have a family-owned malthouse in MN is pretty damn cool. Their dedication to quality, research, and energy conservation is something that is missing in too many businesses today

It's unfortunate that younger generations will never get to see their favorite band for $10 because my generation thought streaming music was awesome because it was cheap. Unfortunately, the artist suffered and did what they had to do...made money by touring instead of selling music.

I have a friend who didn't wear a helmet for years. I told him once in a not preachy way "you really should get a helmet Tom, things happen quick" He got one, and one day on the bike path he hit some loose gravel and went down. Lost a couple teeth and wrecked his helmet, but it could have been worse

I look at helmets more of a safety feature when I do something foolish (like taking a gravel turn too quickly) rather than it's saving me from a car.
