I think her hair - it's the rich, saturated blue-black with an iridescent sheen very much like raven feathers. It's almost unnaturally silky too. It's one of the few things she is personally somewhat fond of too, especially because it's the same color as her mother's hair.

And Hiroshi is a shard - given her nature, sometimes there are two on a reflection - and basically handed over his aether when he time hopped into ARR. Anyway, she shows up to do her song and dance b/c pretending to understand what it is to be Special has been her whole life.

In fact, she's not supposed to get wrapped up with the Scions at first - the Alliance figures some girl from the East can't be a real Warrior of Light. She's supposed to be a manufactured hero figure, a healer, for an Eorzea still limping back form the Calamity. Not that they can remember Hiroshi.

Azem said it was time to go, and when the kami say to go, you go. And out of some spite for losing the god of his shrine, her "father" is happy to accept a sum from the Eorzean Alliance for the delivery of a maiden of Light. She shows up knowing she's been hired as basically a fake messiah.

Still brewing, but basically I originally considered Rinh leaving for Eorzea b/c she was trying to escape her role at home. I think it fits her personality better to still be very reticent about her "role" but to have gone to Eorzea based on prophecy.
