This post should not be read as me suggesting you shouldn’t fight, just that improv might be a better approach if you can pull it off.

That sounds really interesting. Definitely adding to my list. Thanks!

Trump et al want the fight. They are unprepared for the improv. Portland FTW.

I’m glad Nessler and Danielson are obsessed with facemsks in every game and not just when Michigan is on defense.

This will definitely be a chapter in my Trump trade book should that book ever actually get written. It just so nicely illustrates so much about Trump’s understanding of trade.

never in all of my years of researching or thinking about trade and industrial policy did I ever consider "raise tariffs in response to head of state/government not winning an international award"

just never considered it. I guess a failure of imagination.

I can definitely see that. If I had a more visible account, I’d probably spend more time thinking about this position as my mistakes would have more downside.

I usually don’t delete my posts because I believe in being transparent about my mistakes. But mistakenly posting something offensive is probably one of the occasions that would lead me to delete.

Speaking of overrated in the pre-season, why was Arch Manning anointed the best college QB?
seandehrlich.bsky.social
Penn State was a pre-season fave bc the last 2 champs were B10 teams who saw many seniors forgo the draft to come back and take care of unfinished business. But PSU’s core was worse than M’s and OSU’s and their coach was far worse. They were always fraudulent but I didn’t see this as their unmasking

When Gary Danielson understands more about football strategy than you, it might be time to give up the ghost, Hames Franklin.

Fickell has given up. This is weird. Wisconsin’s not gonna win but their coach isn’t even trying anymore.

I don’t think most of them are trying to.

In regards to this, I discovered today that in addition to the more high profile tariff reductions on medicine and chemicals, aircrafts and autos and parts, and cork, they also lowered tariffs on 4 agricultural
Products: capers, kiwi fruit, paprika, and saffron. I have no idea why those 4.

The amount of prep I do before talking to a reporter about trade policy and politics always ends up seeming disproportionate to the amount of time I spend talking to the reporter.

China is the biggest producer by far. NZ is second. Italy and Greece are 3rd and 4th, so I guess this might be either at their behest or to reduce our dependence on China for the strategically important kiwis
