getting to share a multiscale zoomable interface I built, to a person who helped invent them (Prof. Jim Hollan, see Pad++ @ UIST1994) and just, talk shop about info vis... what an honor & joy…!

my biggest personal takeaways:
1. feeling affirmed in my decision to shift my research towards quality data work *before* AI model work, and centering quality community work *before* that
2. feeling more empowered to call out AI-accelerated societal ills

visit the Midjourney Storytelling Lab at the #UIST2025 demo session & try Dramamancer, a delightfully novel interactive narrative system!
I had a blast using it to craft a dynamic story experience, wherein you can roleplay my dream… of being at the UIST demo session... 😝

A visual novel like display where a fox in conference outfit talks on the phone to a shiba inu. In the text box, a Hedgehog researcher says hurriedly adjusting fheir tiny glasses, oh sorry, can't chat! Im rushing to try the Midjourney Storytelling Lab demos before the line gets too long-- have you seen Dr. Wendy Macaw's interface work? Amazing!
