This tribute to the late Ken Dryden at the Montreal Canadiens home opener was really quite extraordinary

It starts with Dryden's own words, which are as clear and eloquent a description of sports and athletes as you'll ever hear
- TSN
Ahead of their home opener, the Canadiens paid tribute to Hockey Hall of Famer, and Habs legendary goaltender Ken Dryden, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 78.

That's really quite breathtaking. Images threaded together so deftly into a rich web. And that last sentence -- wow. Bravo

Signed up but the timing's gonna be a bit dicey -- hope to make it but if not, enjoy!

A response to AI that doesn't get a lot of airtime is disinterest. I read and think about it because as a citizen I feel that I need to be informed, but using it for teaching or any personal reason just flat out doesn't interest me. Suspect I'm far from alone in this.

Thank you! And same to you in several weeks!

Thankful for fall sunshine and fall trees, always the beautifully stoic and patient trees

Perhaps not coincidentally, "signs, disregarded" explains a lot of 2025

Dear Capitalism:

I just want to spend time with loved ones and be thankful that I have them and many other blessings.

I could care less if the turkey is a bit dry, or the stuffing isn't perfect. Nobody needs to "up their game" in any way.

Please, stop tiring us out so relentlessly, thanks

Thanks for the warning but don't need it, it's 2025, living it every day, my word every single blessed day

October is also brooding-dark sky fall colours, those days where the temperature is dropping by the hour and rain will slip away into snow

Beyond capitalism collapsing in confusion, feel like this is all a constant, slow-rolling insult to those of us who don't plan things like 17 weeks in advance. Regularly seeing Hallowe'en stuff already on clearance while I have yet to give it more than a passing thought --

"Reclaiming" is both fascinating and telling. Reclaim from who or what? How have teachers come to lose their claim and ownership of PD? And what does reclaiming look like?

Vital questions, along with the two you posted here. Once you have good answers, the benefits are considerable.

The Mariners have a certain Canadian fan base because of their proximity to Vancouver, but the country as a whole is really rallying around the Jays right now. Should be intense if not as edgy as playing the Yankees, a divisional rival whose fans were booing O Canada.

Very thankful to start Thanksgiving weekend by seeing Daniel Lanois perform tonight. Didn't take pics or video; just got immersed in the musicianship and craft of a great Canadian artist I've loved for decades. Superb.
