This checks out, though polyamory isn’t really for me, one doll seems plenty.

Not reading the comments continues to be the only way…

Just saw some obviously US dude who loudly proclaims PRO-constitution in his profile calling for “Vote of No Confidence and SNAP elections” and I’m just wondering what constitution he’s been mistaking for his.

Not to tamp down your growth hopes, but giving redit where due, the Va Senate has been an oppositional bulwark for some time now - they mitigated a lot of harm for us during Youngkin’s first two years when he had an R house of delegates and was Trying Some Shit.

Please excuse the IG link, but the zoo's website fails here and you deserve the baby otters:

The Virginia Zoo is excited to announce the birth of our first Asian small-clawed otter pups! The 3 male pups were born on August 25th to parents Elbe (F) and Jilin (M) who joined the Zoo in 2024 based on a breeding recommendation from the Asian Small-clawed Otter Species Survival Plan (SSP). The first 30 days of otter pup development are crucial, therefore with the exception of an initial vet exam to get weights, listen to their hearts, and sex the pups, animal care staff have stayed hands-off to provide the otter family uninterrupted time to bond. However, keepers have been monitoring the pups with visual checks 3 times a week to ensure their health and safety. At one month old, the pups have started to open their eyes and wiggle about their nest box, but the trio will not receive another vet exam or their vaccines until they are older. Jilin and Elbe have been excellent and attentive parents to their first litter as a pair. The two are keeping busy tending to the pups and each other during this joyous transition. Male Asian small-clawed otters are involved in the rearing process, and Jilin has been taking great care of Elbe and the pups. Their keepers report that everyone is keeping busy and enjoying bonding behind the scenes. Due to the delicate nature of the otter pups, the introduction process back onto the outdoor habitat will be slow. When baby otters are born, they do not have their waterproof coat yet, so the introduction process to water will be gradual, starting no sooner than when they are 9 weeks old. During this time, Elbe and Jilin will teach the pups how to swim while still behind the scenes and in shallow pools to ensure the safety of each little one. Depending on the weather and the pups’ progression through their milestones, we hope to see the otters transition back outdoors and visible to the public in roughly 14-16 weeks. We are thrilled for this new chapter for our otters and will provide updates from our animal care team on our social media channels!

In case the actual serious reasons to be disgusted with the NYT aren't enough for you, Wirecutter posted this article and did not reference Sam Vimes ONCE:
Screenshot from NYT Wirecutter headlined "These Boots Have Lasted Me 12 Years. Unfortunately, They're $600" with a graphic of a pair of (presumably quite nice) boots.

I saw a bunch of commentary before seeing a source and was sure this was just bluesky taking the piss and was curious about what foolishness prompted it…

I’ll just be over here banging my head on the table if anyone needs me.

Not so much that one is a form of the other, but yes, ADHD and autism both fall under the neurodivergent umbrella, and there is a ton of symptom overlap/comorbidity between the two diagnoses.

It’s been depressingly common to hear “girls don’t get _____” so I imagine he just doesn’t.

Oh for fuck’s sake.

I hate when something I thought was y’all making fun of a different thing turns out to be the actual factual.

Oh yeah, the mall has some, but they’re much more in the earlier, less impressive vein, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the pod style ones in a vending machine setup… best believe I’ll be on the lookout though!

Just talking about it makes me want to visit the guy at Costco again on the way home from work today. Tho I’d feel bad to waste his time, since I definitely don’t have the money. (I’d make the room. I used to pack up my dining table every winter to make room for a Christmas tree, I can prioritize!)
