You examine the S. John closely, but find only a small tag proclaiming him a product of the Frobozz Magic Game Designer Company. Trusty GM, Hammondal, Risus, Uresia, Fonts, Maps. Long ago I did stuff for GURPS, LUGTrek, Citybook, d20 Star Wars, Hero, etc.

I love pretty much everything about that show but if it were ONLY about the Hendrixes, I would happily watch it just for the adventures of Alison and Donnie.

And it's tricky, because healing is good, unity is good.

But the last time around we allowed that to create a kind of shelter where this stuff could go right back to growing. Pridefully even.

It's going to be challenging to find the balance that lets us heal but that keeps them ashamed.

Yeah, they should be shamed for life. My worry is that we'll repeat one of the mistakes that got us here.

In the aftermath of the Civil War there was this push for national unity that led to softening what had happened, mythologizing, apologism. No shame, just "bygones" in the name of healing.

Oh damn, Diane Keaton. For those of us who were kids in the 70s and 80s, the most human human in so many ways, a model of who you could grow up to be, or grow up to love, or both.

It’s remarkable to realize Diane Keaton created a signature look and sensibility back in the 1970s and for about half a century continued to be a creative inspiration for how to be yourself in a world that tries so hard to put you in a box. Well done, Diane Keaton. RIP.

I will echo friends in saying on this National Coming Out Day: If you can’t come out safely, it’s okay not to. You’re still valid, and you still matter. Stay safe and our community will get through this looking out for each other. ✌🏻🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I really do believe that _every_ RPG playstyle, including those I don't care for, have their strengths.

One of HTT's oddball strengths is that it's great at dissolving the distinction between PC triumph and PC failure.

This isn't on the list of things most gamers notice about it.

Hilariously awful was HPL's specialty, the rantings of his apologists aside. 😆

A serious situation is unfolding for Green Ronin. They need immediate legal help to protect their assets after Diamond’s bankruptcy. Please consider donating or sharing to support them. Every bit helps! gofund.me/13942a1a4 #ttrpg

He was a lead designer on the game that remains my favorite RPG: Ghostbusters 1st Edition. 🙏

I think the best way to start is just grab a pen and start doodling (or a doodling app and your finger).

100% of the time, the maps of mine that I like the most, started as doodles before I took them into more serious tools. Doodling rocks. 😁

I have this same conversation, but about worldbuilding. There's no generalized "good" worldbuilding; it depends on what kind of project and purpose you're building it for.

Even out here in my wilderness (books for pen-and-paper gaming) this holds true. I've written for both Star Wars and Star Trek RPGs (for example) and in every case, I was invited, because of my body of work outside those IPs.

And RPG writers get this same question, about how to pitch your way in. 😆
cavan.bsky.social
If anyone’s interested in how you get to write for an established IP like Star Wars I wrote about it in this post - www.cavletter.com/established-...

Heck, I'd try it. Sounds like a lively spread, if an unfamiliar one. 😁

Often, but not always. With the stuffing, and the sweet potatoes, there's often plenty of starches on the table, but ... mashed potatoes are too great not to have, so we often have those, too. 😁

I'm heading to Wegman's right now to sit and write for a while. ☺️

I still use either 3rd or 5th depending on the table. Castronegro is a challenging one, always worth a run!

All the RPGs that I love are funny. Nearly half of them are intentionally so.
