Google letting you blast yourself like this is fucked up though. They throttle at 10 req/sec, but even thats wild as a default. 10 req/min seems more reasonable as the default quota.

They do throttle to 10 req/sec unless you specifically request a quota increase or have an enterprise account.

Guy might’ve run into that early on and requested it though not realizing the implications

It’s possible there will be a radical change in the underlying model architecture that can solve some of the inherent issues with large transformer models. But none of the AI companies want that, and academic research has been gutted and left for dead, so I don’t really see a way forward.

Not really. Spitting out wrong answers is an unsolvable fundamental part of how the models work.

It might get marginally better, but I imagine we’re pretty close to “as good as a LLM can be” at this point. There isn’t really anything left to train on, so it’ll just be tiny improvements.

No one has yet been able to show genAI improves “efficiency” even in the best-to-date use case of programming, let alone any other field. It’s wild how obvious this is being forced
