What the fuck is this writing style? “No sentence longer than 8 words”???

It’s so stilted and awful to read.

I’m decidedly voting for anyone but Schumer if his dead ass tries to run again

“Research does not necessarily support the effectiveness of body-worn cameras in achieving those desired outcomes. A comprehensive review of 70 studies of body-worn cameras use found that the larger body of research on body-worn cameras showed no consistent or no statistically significant effects.”

I mean doesn’t seem to make much of a difference for normal cops, don’t see why feds would care either

I work in tech and until all this recent Ellison bullshit I hadn’t even thought about Oracle in over a decade. Honestly forgot they were still around.

It’s like we somehow made a textbook that costs a billion dollars to write, but all of the citations are “fuck you that’s proprietary information”. We’d all recognize that that was bad, not throw our hands up and say “well let’s study the effects of this new textbook paradigm”
February 1, 2026 at 3:48 PM
Nah. I just think it’s bad to outsource work and knowledge to an expensive tool wholly owned and controlled by tech billionaires.

It’s a black box where you cannot know what is happening between input and output, both in the model and the instructions supplied outside of it. That’s really bad.

There needs to be a reckoning and police as they are need to be abolished.

This is what half of most city budgets go to: useless fucks who don’t care about citizens or actively want to harm them, counting the hours until they can go home and beat their spouse.

Images from those cameras aren’t high quality front-on shots and also aren’t being directly fed into a central database

No one is doing violence except ICE.

Also what would be functionally different if he did use the insurrection act?

It’s probably worse currently but let’s not pretend a cop in the US deciding to murder someone in broad daylight is all that unusual. Typically their punishment is a month’s paid vacation.

Ah interesting. Didn’t know that. Good to know thanks.

They’re a search company with the same AI crap in every website. At least they have a toggle to just fully turn all of that stuff off.

Honestly feels like hiring a one person contractor company that apparently doesn’t have monitoring systems or backups should be negligence on the government’s part.

This is such a solved problem that you can buy turnkey solutions for this. It’s nuts to try to run your own servers.

Same. But for those of us who work in places where everyone has bought into this mass delusion it’s legit a bright spot to laugh at it once and a while
