On the heels of the raid in St. Paul, Minnesota a week ago, ICE mercenaries are carrying out another assault on that community right now.

It's heartening to see people showing up to stand up to them. Build rapid response networks and community defense groups. Resist.

Masked mercenaries are only able to kidnap people off our streets at random today because Democrats refused to defund ICE when they had the chance.

The same goes for the epidemic of police violence.

The movement against ICE should revitalize anti-police organizing.

Abolishing ICE is only the beginning. Have you looked at your local cops?

..

According to mappingpoliceviolence.us, police kill at least three people per day; from a meta analysis published in NYT, we now know the number could be six or even more.

“If every time that ICE strikes, they leave each community more mobilized, interconnected, and radicalized than before, we can use their efforts to eventually become capable of defeating them.”

"To confront this wave of gender fascism, we need a transformative framework to describe what we’re fighting for. Most advocates use a rights discourse to explain their opposition to this wave of oppressive policies. We propose a different framework: gender self-determination." 1/3 @crimethinc.com

"The fight to #StopCopCity set the template for the social struggles that will play out under the second Trump administration. On one side, a political class unified in favor of repression unhampered by precedent or law; on the other side, a popular movement employing a wide array of strategies."
Cop City Is Everywhere
The movement to stop Cop City was one of the most important social struggles of the Biden era. Its trajectory tells us a lot about the challenges we confront today.

Like LA, DC, and Chicago, the previous targets of ICE crackdowns, Charlotte has a Black mayor and is majority non-white. These crackdowns are meant to normalize using federal forces to terrorize people of color.

What's new is that Charlotte is in a swing state. Let's explore the implications.

They tell us that dangerous people are on the loose, threatening our communities.

But if anyone is dangerous, it is those who would do harm to their neighbors in return for a bribe—those who sell their capacity to inflict violence to the highest bidder.

Essentially, the government shutdown represented a Democratic Party effort to present itself as opposing the Republican agenda despite lacking the political power to halt it. It was always performative.

As Donald Trump consolidates autocratic power, real opposition will require outright resistance.
