I just started watching a youtube video that opened with (paraphrasing) 'I didn't like the latest Doom because it wasn't the same as the childhood game that I grew up with as a preteen, Doom 2016'

Holy shit! This actually... works? Super fast paced adaptation for something that was super slow paced. And yet, it feels like it respects the source material more than the actual Epilogues or the sequel, lol.

Yeah, but apparently that "sells" (besides game worlds that kids love) and that's also why Lakuza and other adventure world creators moved on, last I seen them, they were making their own games for gamejams.

I like how in the summer I was totally still like "yeah I'm gonna make more youtube videos about lesser known game mods that I've been playing" and today I'm like "eh do I really want to? I have other things I want to do."

Still, I kinda want to do it still, but motivation seems gone.
