Viacom sucks!!! It is a shame that MTV could not just have stuck to music. I used to watch all of the 80's music videos and when I was into Metal music I would watch the Headbangers Ball every Saturday Night. For a while there was just an MTV rewind of all of the 80's music on cable.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
And there are plenty on youtube. Some of the Soundboard ones are excellent too.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
I know. In 2007 Genesis tickets were $250.00 for one.
I found 3 online for $250.00 and sold the other two for $200.00, so I went for 50 bucks. Ticketmaster is an extremely corrupt organization (owned by 1 man) that should have been broken up a long time ago.

And those are the cheap seats. No thanks...I'm good!

RUSH - 50 Something Tour

Most of the time it is promoters & third party sellers driving up prices.

Tickets are averaging approximately $200 to $1000.00.

I paid $98.00 to see them in 2002 and thought that was a lot.

There is no way I would pay this to see any band.

MTV has not played music in decades.

They went from Music Videos and Music News in the 80's and 90's to Stupid reality shows which contributed to the Dumbing Down of America.
The day the music died, MTV is shutting down its music channels after four decades

Thank you Donna. It was just a misunderstanding as I should have taken more time before responding the way I did. I wish you well, and also RUSH well. Take care.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
Someone named Mike tagged you and others in a post about me because he did not like my viewpoint.
Your point of view is certainly understandable given your relationship with them. Their music has brought me joy for decades and I appreciate them for that. Sorry if I misread your original response.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
An opposing point of view about 2 musicians who are not gods got me blocked by a cry baby who needs to get an actual life.

RUSH is an extremely talented band, which is why I have loved their music for over 40 years, but even they would not appreciate "Fanatics" like Mike who appears "unstable."
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
For me, and maybe this is just me, they had 40 years with Neil and should be satisfied with that. My opposition with them going out has nothing to do with who they picked as a drummer, but the fact that they are going out as RUSH again because it could never be enough for them.

I understand what you are saying. I think a memorial like what you mentioned would have been more appropriate.

Many people out there have made Gods out of them, which even they do not like, and I think that plays a part in how others look at them. I love their music, but that's about it.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
The assumption that I would not be happy no matter what happened. Or maybe I read your response wrong. I feel people are being attacked for not liking the reunion when they are entitled to have that view.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
What a ridiculous conclusion. I have been a fan of the music of Rush since 1980. I'm happy with what they achieved with Neil for 40 years. So because some of us have a different opinion that differs from you or others we are being cast out.

I would think you would know better. Apparently not!
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
Aw.. somebody in the Rush Cult got upset!

I don't think you tagged enough people though.

Maybe you should send this to Geddy and Alex too.

It is called a difference of opinion. Grow up asshole!
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
Same here. I love that album, also his collaboration with Steve Hackett on Squackett and Billy Sherwood with Conspiracy. His high Bass tones made him very unique in the way that he played.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
They certainly could be considered the best, or one of the best. I have seen them numerous times and the way they played was like nobody else. They are almost in a genre of their own.
Rick is the best keyboard player, Steve is so versatile and Chris is very unique and Alan White was underrated.
sounddiscoveries.bsky.social
His T-Shirt says he has 99 problems and 420 solutions.

Maybe doing an album review on dope was not the best idea. 😂

And yet he has 579 subscribers? 🤦
