Its not hen of the woods (grifola frondosa), which has teeth rather than gills. These are most likely a type of oyster. Possibly pleurotus djamor.

So cool! I have mica caps (coprinellus micaceus) growing around the base of a tree in my yard. They're in the same family, and they autodigest, too. Huge clusters appear one morning, and the next morning they've all deliquesced into black goo. Its pretty amazing.
