Here's two:

1) I lost a cap for my Tokina fisheye lens at a trade-show, and naturally nobody could find it or had anything close to sell AT the trade-show

2) My cap for a SONY prime lens was broken for a loooong time and I was still using it, but I said I'd get a new one for MCVegas; lost it Day 1
