Because of being a NASA-Apollo nerd, I pronounce BSKY “BIS-kee”
2 second sample in song? Not transformative enough. Song has same chord progression? See you in court. And you better keep a roll of gaffer tape handy to cover up all those logos on clothing.
So much of what we as creatives want to do is mired in draconian copyright laws, but AI gets it all for free.

Okay.
Deleted by other post because the real answer is Tetsuo: The Iron Man
Played with some Polaroid film this evening that expired forty years ago. It took a dozen attempts to get two decent exposures. #analog #polaroid
I see two scenarios:

Scenario A: the AI evangelists are correct. Craft loses all relevance. We all rot in a 24hr custom hallucination. Pros adopting AI for content creation didn’t help.

Scenario B: Things made by skilled humans still have value. Pros adopting AI for content creation didn’t help.
Put it another way: when camera phones became ubiquitous, it was clear that the value of professional photography was going to change.

Nobody was saying, “the only way forward is for photographers use throw away their gear and use phones instead.”
“You have to start using LLMs to make games now or you’ll get left behind!”

Counterpoint: in a future where anyone can type “awesome FPS game” into a box, it won’t matter who was an early adopter.
Helloo!

When Keenan said, “that’s the point of view I represent!” I frickin died
It feels like I’m saying, “there shouldn’t be food insecurity in the world,” and people are replying, “I have a right to eat! See how you feel about it when you’re hungry!”
People instinctively reframe the discussion to be about passivity. They can’t imagine a world in which there isn’t a threat around every corner. So advocating for peace sounds like advocating for doormat-ism.
Those are the reasons why peace is difficult, but they don’t make it impossible and I think that, frankly, annoys some people. They reframe the discussion to shut it down. “People have a right to defend themselves! See how peace and love work when you’re being beaten down in the street.”
I think there’s an unspoken strain of thought that believes that violent conflict is an inevitable part of humanity. “You don’t understand, resources are scarce, the ways of life are incompatible, the feud stretches back to infinity.”
So, the hippies were probably incorrect that all conflicts around the world could evaporate in a single moment of raised consciousness.

But

They were correct that peace, love, and coexistence are possible. And they were correct that the barriers to those things are contrivances of society.
Don Norman says (and I’m paraphrasing) that engineers solve problems, but designers identify what the real problem is. The difficulty with tech #audio folks is that we have to do both. And part of growth in our craft means learning to resist our amazingly cool solutions to the wrong problems.
Every social media site now has some version of youtube’s “click the bell” because they all went for algorithmic feeds. But lo and be-flippin-hold, people like seeing stuff from who they follow. So now we have a second layer of following to make up for the fact that the first one got ruined.
The road to memorability is paved with people insisting you’re doing everything wrong

question: if you know, you already know but if you don't know, I do a podcast called Beards, Cats, And Indie Game Audio. I'm currently looking for ideas for guests to talk to. Who would you like to hear me have on the podcast?

Looks and sounds excellent!
I think about this a lot, why people get so vitriolic about Mac vs Windows, for instance. I think it’s because these things are expensive and long lasting, and we are so desperate to stave off buyer’s remorse. The merits of MY chosen gizmo aren’t enough, the other person’s gizmo must be terrible
One tiny example:

Look at this little loop of metal. Your pinky finger touches this. Can you guess how?

If you said, “with the tip of your pinky gently resting on TOP of it,” you are a trumpet player already.
