Newbie freelancers, I have question for you!

Im putting together a doc with a buncha tools, thoughts + resources in regards to being a freelancer in video games.

What are your Qs? What did you wish people would talk about more? Im focusing a lot on financial realities.

RTs appreciated!

Laugh-a while you can, monkey-boy.
so GameSoundCon, that's coming up soon. I'll be speaking on 2 round tables this year. Hope to see some of you there.
thanks! good to know if I get this off the ground and do a proper installation. a button in a room with a bunch of speakers would be real cool.
as a first project, that's all I need. a way/button for someone to start the event and listen.
but I need a game engine to hold it. I want to end up with an "game" people can run that's just one button that sets off an audio event from an fmod project. how hard would this be to do with godot? is there a tutorial project that would give me that?
so I want to do an art sound project. I've seen some great installations lately. now I don't have the means/connections to make an installation (at least not yet) but as a start I'd like to do a software thing. fairly obviously I'm pretty good with Fmod and can create something within that.
that episode of Young Ones where Madness plays Our House while standing out in the street.
and that marks the end of this "season". I'm going to take a bit of a break and come back in 2026 with more episodes. At the moment I'm thinking each year will be a 9 episode season. I'm already lining up more guests and planning in person interviews at GameSoundCon.
thanks! it was the worst flu I have ever had. hopefully I never have that again :)
who do I know (well or vaguely) that will be at Gamesoundcon that might want to do an interview/be a guest on Beards, Cats, And Indie Game audio?

(looking for new guests more than returning guests)

this is some professional level procrastination right here.
I had the flu to end all flues last month so I missed getting my podcast out. it's coming out this month and just realized I losing a bunch of days to edit it for the holiday. instead of working ahead tonight I'm just adding more minutes I have to edit each day to my shorter number of days I have.

#gameaudio and #godot friends,

presenting you an Audio Debug View for Godot

it's free to download and use (license details in the repo), this is still a work in progress, so feel free to open issues in case of encountered bugs, as I am hoping to develop it further

Did a pretty good talk last night @fullindie.bsky.social Reinforcing Your Game Audio - Pro Wrestling Style.
was fun. couldn't see my slide notes so had to run blind. forgot a couple things. but was good. possibly was just an excuse to talk about wrestling :)
been a slow year, only 2 albums and a single so far.

pushing rookie numbers this year.
