Majora's Mask might be one of the games that aged the best in the N64, and of all time, but in a weird way

In the way that trying to modernise it actually makes it WORSE

With Ocarina of Time, the N64 hardware was a limitation, and apart from the lighting, the 3DS remake was improved in every way

So they made it way harder

The remake removed a lot of what made the atmosphere so dark and oppressive, and the hand holding was seen as unnecessary, especially as the game was designed with the N64 clunky engine in mind. Bosses were also made much more basic, removing what made them so unique

But Majora's Mask is different

Instead of limiting it, the N64 hardware actually EMPOWERED it!
The Dark Lighting helped cement the Dark vibe of the game, and the lower poly aspect worked well with it's art direction

The game was also designed for those who had already beaten OoT and wanted more...

Game & Watch Gallery 3 contains a debug mode that displays the game's graphics. However, due to an incorrectly loaded palette and using a black background, the sprites for Yoshi in the Egg game appear inadvertently unsettling when viewed in that mode.

Because the repeat mini bosses are often far in between with new hazards on the field, and usually some abilities are exclusive to mini bosses so you gotta encounter them a few times

The creator himself didn't even expect it to be that popular

And also, a certain gaming youtuber who makes really good videos once did one about why he didn't like the game and got lots of hate for it, and everyone now sees him as "the guy who hates Undertale just because it's popular"

I have a similar opinion but for Undertale

I feel like the game is way too simple and short and there isn't really too much variety concerning how to defeat or spare enemies

I know it is meant to be replayed but Chrono Trigger also has lots of replayability and it was much longer and more complex

I love OoT so much but I understand why people don't like it

It's definitely a wee bit overrated, more like a 86 out of 100 to me

Yeah I have no tolerance for like, huge disagreements over major political issues, but if I can't say Ocarina of Time is one of the worst "Best games of all time" without it becoming a nasty fight rather than something funny like... what are we doing??

Two well-known voice clips from Super Mario Sunshine are Mario saying "Aren't I done yet?!" and "There's more?!" in an exasperated way, long presumed unused. However, there is actually a way to hear them in-game, as they have a chance to play when he enters a level at low health.

when i was a kid i didn't understand how this worked and i thought every CD that was manufactured had to have a monster put onto it. like they'd go up to ringo starr or whatever and ask him what monster he wants and he'd say "ouhh this DEfinitely has a "Battle Rocks" quality to it! peace and love.!"
