Love this game. Got it on Steam and the old Mac release!

I'd love for Nintendo to get ahold of the IP so they can finish it but sadly companies rarely sell off IPs unless they're going bankrupt.

Don't forget Persona 5, the favorite game of internet chuds everywhere

The Xenogears/saga/blade games are a weird case cuz the same guy made all of them but they're all owned by different companies now

They're all pretty distinct in their own ways too

If you don't have a speed-optimized team it's a pain for sure

Thankfully you only have to take out one of the bad guys or it'd probably be unwinnable.

Eiyuden was a pretty close successor to Suikoden but with Murayama's passing I kinda doubt we'll see another

Breath of Fire totally deserves an HD collection at least. So absurd you can buy the soundtracks for the BoF games on Steam but not the games...

The rooftop fight is pretty infamous too since half the time Rafa runs in and gets herself killed before you even get a turn...

What are some multi entry video game franchises that are more-or-less totally dead but still deserve a spotlight in today’s age

I'm the 18,583,927th person beat the latest From game after months of grinding and using a guide while saying I didn't. This qualifies me as the best and brightest of humanity and also prime eugenics material, and the human race has no future without me. Signups to be my brood mares in link below

Pretty much

It's built on the same engine as Ultima Underworld too so it was very much a "going for a new standard" scenario

They actually pulled it off surprisingly well though!

Definitely takes some getting used to (came from an era before they knew if these newfangled "mouse" things would catch on) but there's a lot to like about it. Very different take on shooters for the time with a lot of story beats and puzzles.

Mac version of Civ 2 lookin clean
The Mac version of Civ 2, which does look quite good in the clean Mac OS UI

Mileage definitely varies with that site.

"About 30 hours for just the main story"

(Over 50 hours later) "Well that wasn't very accurate."

"I have negative things to say about you that are true."

"LIBELSLANDER MEDIABIAS"

And no I'm not going to let that go

I'm sick of soulslikes games in general. They all look and play exactly the same and it's all the same plotless grinding and pattern memorization every. damn. time.

Wish everyone would get sick of them and they'd just go the way of Guitar Hero already

I will never play any more of Metaphor cuz the first two hours pissed me off
