These things are known as combination guns and are designed to hunt various game on the same hunting trip without having to lug both a rifle and a shotgun around. The smaller barrels are actually rifle bores, just apropos :)

During my last rum batch, I broke my alcometer, so I had to guess the final blend strength by taste. I blended it out "enough", to my mind. Well, I finally tested one of my bottles at random. Turns out my sipping rum sat at 150 proof, 75% abv. That may explain why my friends found it so fiery :P
