the doctor doesn't recognize him either

he goes to the theater, that night

sits in the audience

no one comes out on stage

he begins to laugh

no one else thinks it's funny
now's the part where I come back out to the party and you all politely pretend you couldn't hear me crying in the bathroom. you hand me a drink because you know I need one. you smile, a little too sincerely. I try to tell a joke. have you heard the one about the clown who can't remember his own name

hey there. I've not been pushing my patreon very hard lately, but it's a thing that exists, and the recurring income really makes a huge difference each month. I know times are fucking tough right now, but if you like what I do and have a couple extra dollars to spare, help is greatly appreciated 💚💜

"trad wife" is such a ridiculous concept. "wife" is not a tradition. "wife" was invented in 1991 to distract you from the gulf war

I know I've kind of moved away from the constant performance of misery, because I don't think that's a very good place to live, but things still do really fucking suck around here, and that doesn't get better until I find a job that can pay me to get out of here. any help now buys me time to do that
so, jana here. been a minute since I've bumped this, but I am still unemployed, doing what I can to change that, but it's fucking rough out here. I'm at the edge of things financially, living off of unemployment and my soon-to-be-ex husband's help. any support really does make a huge difference 💚💜
so, hey. it's jana. from the web site

I just lost my job. after six weeks of being strung along without pay. finances are on the low end of okay for now, but are likely to become a problem in the near-ish future

so, if you're inclined to help a girl out. there are a few way to do so in my bio 💚💜

I've been pretty open about not needing financial support as much as my sisters, up to this point. I've also been pretty open about being afraid that that might change, some day

I've been feeling that "some day" breathing down my neck for a while now

and, I guess this is me admitting that

I see protest discourse is hitting the feed again ahead of No Kings—idk man, go, don’t go,

…but if you do go make sure to link up with an org that’ll help you get into longterm organizing and if you don’t go, make sure to link up with an org that’ll help you get into longterm organizing

Everyone saying "make weird art!" you better fucking mean it. There better not be an unspoken "but not too weird" tacked on at the end.

anyone eager to judge a monster on the scale of columbus by an exculpatory standard is someone who is explicitly admitting they see nothing *inherently* wrong with anything he did. they are telling you they wouldn't have a problem with the same thing happening now as long as it was normalized

AND ALSO, even if his victims somehow didn't have any opinions about him, i'm still allowed to judge him by the standard i want, i don't have to defer to historical local hegemonies, don't have to discard the victims of historical men just bc his peers might have seen him as a good guy
Reposted by Spyyyder
but also, even if he hadn't been condemned in his time, i still don't have to judge him by the always-exculpatory standard of "a man of his time." his victims also lived in his world, their perspective existed at the same time, there's nothing anachronistic about seeing him from their view.
You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.
