Absolutely, I listened to Tristan Harris on Jon Stewart show last night. We must regulate AI before the "arms race" to total domination by a handful of tech oligarchs become the rulling class. They want to control tech, remove the "tax of human labor" which is essentially to remove humanity.

I stayed nice & dry until I got to the top of Tony's Arbutus trail on Maple Mountain today but as soon as the descent started the rain let loose. This is a technical downhill trail with lots of rock drops & slick slab rocks, the rain sure made it spicey excitement 😜 Quick view overlooking Crofton.

It was very active when Merv was alive but since his passing it has become more of an educational and awareness centre as well as ecological reserve.

That's what my plan is. Some shuffling to prepare for a 2026 withdrawal for spending, increase my cash savings and lastly fund my TFSA from my RRSP. The math still makes sense to leave invested but will watch carefully if some mortgage lump sum payments make sense next year as a hedge.

Let’s talk about AI deepfakes.

Anyone could take my photo, or that of any elected official, and run it through an AI program, and make the image say something racist, sexist, misogynistic, etc.

AFAIK, I would have no legal recourse to stop this, other than hoping a media platform would remove it
