Reception celebrated world mental health day by doing some mindful moments. We practiced our rainbow breaths to help us to calm down. We learnt that by doing things we like and enjoy, it helps to keep our minds happy and healthy.

In Year 2, two children wanted to complete extra work at home after their learning in school. After learning about recycling and reusing materials in Science, Cali-Rae made a vase out of a milk bottle. Leo created a map of the local area after our Geography walk yesterday. Wow! Well done 👍

As part of World Mental Health Day, Year 6 have been looking at how to limit their screen time and the effect their phones has on their mental health. We also looked at the positive effects of being in nature!

In Golden time, Year 1 and 2 children in painting group are doing painting by numbers today. We are using careful painting skills and following the colours that match the numbers.

For World Mental Health Day, 2IG have enjoyed time with their friends, thinking about ways to be positive and calm and how we can help each other. We did some breathing techniques, yoga, colouring and quiet reading time.

Mrs Wilson's Year 2 Maths group are using their number bonds to 10 to help them with number bonds in multiples of 10 to 100. We know that if 1+9=10, 10+90=100.

In today's English session in Reception Morvi revealed our new story was Goldilocks and the 3 bears. 🐻 We then had 4 quiz questions on the stories from this week, where contestants had to answer using help from the audience. We got them all right! 🥳

In Geography, Year 2 completed a map with a key after returning from their local walk. What a super job they did!

In Geography, Year 2 have been on a walk of the local area. We saw lots of human features and physical features. We then created an aerial map of the area around our school.

This week Reception are reading traditional tales talking about characters and the setting. Today we enjoyed making gingerbread biscuits but one has escaped from the oven!

We were very lucky that James in Year 6 was able to bring this in: an Honorable Discharge note for his great great grandfather Frederick Payne. 110 years old next month and signed by King George VI!
