In today's English session in Reception Morvi revealed our new story was Goldilocks and the 3 bears. 🐻 We then had 4 quiz questions on the stories from this week, where contestants had to answer using help from the audience. We got them all right! 🥳

Reception are enjoying dressing up as people who help us. We learnt that these people are part of the emergency services. They help us if we ring 999 in an emergency

In Geography, Year 2 completed a map with a key after returning from their local walk. What a super job they did!

In Geography, Year 2 have been on a walk of the local area. We saw lots of human features and physical features. We then created an aerial map of the area around our school.

In 2IG Maths, we are improving our mental Maths skills. We are counting in 2s, 5s, 10s and 3s as well as continuing to apply our knowledge with number bonds and times tables facts.

This week Reception are reading traditional tales talking about characters and the setting. Today we enjoyed making gingerbread biscuits but one has escaped from the oven!

We were very lucky that James in Year 6 was able to bring this in: an Honorable Discharge note for his great great grandfather Frederick Payne. 110 years old next month and signed by King George VI!

Mrs Wilson's Year 2 English group have become the teachers today! The children have added pink for think and yippee yellow to two diary entries. We know how to make our diaries full of yellow now!

In Maths, 3T were using equipment to partition numbers up to 1000. We tried to partition the numbers in different ways. Well done 3T!

Mrs Wilson's English group have been looking at the features of a diary entry today. We have found time adverbials, verbs in the past tense and feelings and emotions.

In English, Year 3 were playing conjunction 3 in a row. We verbally practised our sentences using co-ordinating conjunctions so that we can use them in our character description at the end of the week. Great job Year 3!

Rumaisa, Cianna and Alfie were interviewed by Councillor Jim O'Boyle about our new heating project last week. They were so confident and articulate - a real credit to the the school! We're so proud of them. 😄

In Jigsaw Reception were learning about working together in school. We took this into our play and asked each other if we could join in with different activities. We learnt 'teamwork makes the dream work' 😁

In Topic we have been talking about primary colours. We dabbed yellow and red on our fingers and rubbed them together to see the colour change. We found that yellow and blue makes green.
