In Art today, Year 1 have been making a collagraph block. They have created a weather motif using a range of resources and tomorrow we hope to paint and print with them.

In Reception we were putting words together to make a sentence. We had one person who came to hear the sentence from the teacher, they had to go back and repeat it to their group who worked together to put the words in the right order 😁

In Science, Year 3 started their new topic Rocks. We discovered many different types of rocks including sedimentary rocks, igneous rocks and metamorphic rocks. Great work Year 3👍

Today reception enjoyed collaborative art. We talked about the trees in winter and painted them onto rolls of paper. Tomorrow we are going to explore using collage materials to create a winter woodland scene.

Reception have been learning about the season Winter. We talked about what clothes we need to wear and the change in weather. We passed around ice cubes and discussed how it felt and what happens when it is warmed up.

Nursery have explored lots of different activities in provision this week. They have been recognising their names, selecting resources to make snowmen with the playdough and using their fine motor skills to move 'snowballs' into ice trays! ❄️

In Art, Year 2 have been looking at the similarities and differences between famous still life artwork. We looked at the theme, colour, composition, objects and the texture of two still life pictures. We also discussed objects we could use as artists from our classroom.

In Computing, year 2 have been learning how to use an algorithm to draw a shape. We have used FD to move forwards and RT to turn right. We have also used the repeat command to repeat our first step.

In Maths, 2IG group are continuing to apply our knowledge of number bonds to 50. We have worked together to match the numbers and explain how we worked out the answer.

Reception are super proud of themselves. We heard back from 'Young Artists' for our 'Me and My Family' entries and they want ALL of our work to be published into their book. Reception parents, you have had permission slips given out today if you would like your child's drawings to go into the book!

In our history project 'Magnificent Monarchs', Year 2 are locating different royal residences around the U.K. Mrs Stapleton has visited many of the places so she shared some of her photos with the class.
