Nursery had a fantastic Sing Along today, but sparkly costumes have a big disadvantage - there was glitter everywhere! The children wanted to help tidy.

In 2IG Maths group, we finished off our week of addition by applying our knowledge and mental maths methods in a game. We showed good teamwork and turn-taking too.

In Spy Time, Year 3 have been reading a letter by the Stone Age Boy. Today was all about expression and how we can change our reading voice. Year 3 did a great job👍

Reception were invited to take part in a drawing competition by the young artist company. They had to draw based on the title 'me and my family'. They could draw 1 person, their whole family or even their pet. They were very excited to send off their entries in the post.

In English this week Reception had to put the events of the little red hen back in the correct order after mr muddles muddled them all up!

In Art, Year 4 have been exploring cold and warm colours by studying two different paintings and describing how we feel looking at the colours. We then had a go at mixing colours using two techniques (wet on wet and wet on dry) to match colours to our colour wheel!

In Science, Year 2 are conducting an investigation to see how exercise affects our heart rate. We made predictions and then tested each activity. We found out that some exercise does increase our heart rate.

We won our heats! 🎉Year 5 & 6 pupils at the Sports Hall event smashed it today, winning 11 out of their 12 events! Their performance drew plaudits from the organisers and the other schools. The team spirit, the bond and support they had for each other was a joy to see. Well done everyone! 👏

In Science, Year 3 enjoyed conducting a science investigation. We were investigating if people with longer femurs can jump further than people with shorter femurs. We used team work, our measuring skills and observations. Well done 👍

Year 4 have been exploring conductors and insulators in our Science lessons. We set up a fair experiment and thought about what we would change and what we would keep the same. We recorded our results and concluded that metal is a conductor!

Our December books of the month have landed. Father Christmas’ Fake Beard by Terry Pratchett and A Christmas Delivery by Andy Shepherd. Both a great read and perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit!

Today in Maths, 4W began to explore the area of a shape. We thought about what that meant and made different shapes with the same area using squares - pretending they were islands to help get across a river!
