He laid them on his bunk and got the iron that the men kept on the stove.
"Oh! I'd wondered what that thing was!" Curtiss said
Roughneck sighed again. He expertly ironed the creases on first one pant leg and then the other.
"Hang 'em up right next time!"
"I will," Curtiss said. "Thank you." #wss366
"Does it matter?" Curtiss asked.
Roughneck sighed.
"Don't you know how to hang up pants?"
Curtiss, who had always had servants attend to his wardrobe, could only shake his head.
"The #crease won't fall straight. You'll need to iron 'em."
"Iron them?"
"Hand 'em over!" Roughneck barked. (2/3) #wss366
"Inspection on the hour!" Sergeant Baker yelled.
The men of Squad 6 squared away their bunks and began to change into dress uniforms.
Curtiss pulled his out and began to dress.
"Wait!" Roughneck said. "What happened to your pants?"
He pointed at them folded crosswise on the hangar. (1/3) #wss366

This only succeeded in alienating their base. I hope a take-away lesson of Mamdani is that you appeal to your base by championing their issues and not by triangulating to avoid offending the rich. #uspol
Since Clinton (and Citizens United) Democrats have positioned themselves as Republican-lite, in order to get the big money from the rich that they believe they need to compete with Republicans. #uspol
"But that wouldn't work with Mother at all," she said. "With Mother…"
"Do tell!" Brunhilde's mother said.
Brunhilde looked up, shocked. Composing her features, she said, "I'm sorry, Mother. I sincerely regret the disappointment I've caused."
"Four," Forrest said.
"Ten," the bear said. (2/2) #wss366
Tears rolled down Brunhilde's cheeks as her lower #lip trembled. She clasped her hands together.
"I'm sorry, Daddy!" she sobbed. "I won't do it again!"
"Two!" Forrest said.
"Oh, I'd give that a nine," the bear said. He clapped his paws together.
Brunhilde smiled and took a bow. (1/3) #wss366
Curtiss realized how she had maneuvered him into getting past his doubts and uncertainties.
"You are too good for me," he said. "I hope you will always be here at my side."
"Always, my love. Always and forever." (4/4) #wss366
She reflected for a moment, then cautiously spoke. "Perhaps my father could…"
"No!" Curtiss raised his head. "What happens must be done directly, openly, and above board."
"Well," she said, smiling gently. "You have your answer then." (3/4) #wss366
"That may or may not be," he said finally. "But what happens next will be. And there are no good choices. I cannot sanction what they have done. But to pursue justice will put me at odds with the most powerful members of the Council." (2/4) #wss366
Serena found him in the Rose Garden. He stood by the fountain, his head bowed, surrounded by the beds of dead rose bushes. She approached and put a hand on his shoulder.
"It's not your fault," she said.
He said nothing for a moment. Then sighed. (1/4) #wss366
So, I get it, now. Make internet search and shopping so broken that you can only do it with some AI agent. Then the AI can learn about you and gently steer you to what its owners want you to know and buy. It's like enshitification on crack.
"Your panties?" he echoed.
She nodded.
"Do they feel… different?"
She nodded again.
"Do they feel…"
"Well, they don't feel dry, if that's what you're asking!" she snapped. (3/3) #wss366
"I can just tell," LuluBelle said.
"You can predict the #weather?"
"Well… Sorta."
"How can you tell? Is like a joint that aches?"
"No…" she said blushing.
"Well, what is it?"
"It's embarrassing…"
"Tell me!" he pressed.
"It's my panties." (2/3) #wss366
"Don't forget to take an umbrella," LuluBelle said.
"But it's sunny!"
"Now. But it's going to rain later."
"No way!" He laughed as he left.
Later, he returned home drenched. She handed him a towel as he came in.
"How did you know it was going to rain?" he asked, drying off. (1/3) #wss366
