I think it's all of them- and the deliberate ambiguity mixed with the specific Realities and intentional dreaminess of other scenes is one of the reasons why I love this movie.

This movie is one of my guilty pleasures. It's such a joy to watch the three of them act together. And today gave me an excuse to revisit this scene, which on its own is a fantastic little snippet of greatness.

Creeping vine plant

I did a better one in pencil but didn't feel like inking it after so I tried in gouache and then promptly fucked it up. Now I'm annoyed and don't want to work on them anymore, so here.
They can't all be winners 🤷‍♂️

Day 11 of #hARToween25 - Creeping Vine Plant

I tried to draw Steve Martin and Audrey II and it came out looking like sexy fan fiction 😭😂 Not intentional.

This is @nomeindeciso.bsky.social btw. My posts haven't been showing under the hashtag so I'm trying from this account.

Against a smeary green background, Steve Martin's sadist dentist character from Little Shop of Horrors stands with his hands on his belt line. He looks quite a bit more aged and less like Steve Martin than he does in the film. The large flytrap esque plant Audrey 2 stands behind him, looming over him like they are near spooning position. To the left of them is the text "This wasn't suppsed to be sexy" because it wasn't but it kind of is.

This is such a simplistic way to view the *many* issues in society that contribute to this. You have no idea why an individual might say they feel "old" and you're making massively general assumptions &/or criticising people for their eating habits when you have no idea of their life or situation.

Where did anyone refer to themselves as old?! Being 40+ & starting to feel the wear & tear on your body is something that happens to most ppl- it's not diminishing nor minimizing the elderly's own issues- it's not a comparison/contest. And one can be privileged in other ways besides monetarily.

It is disheartening & somewhat bleakly astonishing to me that they didn't, and don't. It's the only human reaction to have, and instead they're doing... A bunch of nothing. About everything.
