I really liked Wild Robot & I know I am not going out on a limb with The Iron Giant as another reco.

But if you're looking for the Beatles of non-Disney movies (or the Talking Heads to Disney's Beatles), Miyazaki is it. Nothing else is even close.

Didn't know you had kids!

Ponyo was a favorite movie for us, but not our favorite Miyazaki.

We wore them out and then visited Studio Gibli outside Tokyo.

I'm excited for your kids now … being able to watch these movies for the first time. Let me know what's next.

What is the opposite of rose-colored glasses?

They seem to see war zones where they 100% do not exist. And no mockery (frog or chicken costumes, BennyHill music) makes them 'see' the reaility that the only abnormal issues are ICE being evil shitheads.
