But where is the equivalent of the RPF? Nowhere. United nations? NATO? OTHERS? These organisations are truly allowing a genoside and then their member states will jump in and make profit from the spoils of the genoside and the ‘development opportunities’.

That’s exactly what happened in Rwanda. Except the RPF stopped the genoside. Then the USA and other countries that were/should have been part of peace keeping all came back/got involved and donated money (and made money).

To be clear, I’m not suggesting the kuia consented and should have understood that use of her image was not under her control. My thinking was that she didn’t know it had been added to stock image website and could be bought and used by anyone.

Apparently HP are saying they bought stock image. I assume this means a professional photographer contributed the image to the website of stock images - is this correct? Can someone’s image be used as a stock image without their consent?

I do think that officials should be required to post all disaster info on publicly-available government websites (and *then* they can post the same info on social media platforms).

We have to stop relying on social media platforms run by billionaire psychopaths for basic local disaster comms.

If you’re an official who insists on using social media as a primary source for vital disaster info, then I believe it’s malpractice to not at least duplicate those messages on multiple platforms in 2025 - including those that people under 40 actually use, like TikTok.

I haven’t used Facebook since 2017 and I know very few people who still regularly look at it in 2025.

Huge numbers of people are likely totally shut out of Facebook and X-exclusive disaster comms.

Posting updates on public gov websites would be much better than *this*.
