I'm not a fan of added tech/complexity in newer appliances but I just learned our dryer has a flow sensor to alert me of a (dangerously) blocked dryer vent. Nifty! Also - reminder to clean your dryer vent.
How is this not an Onion article?
As someone with zero prior experience, my Bambu Lab A1 has been great, and with the AMS it requires very little fiddling. Haven’t printed any large scale pieces yet but I’ve done several DnD minis and little spaceships - surprised by the level of detail you can get from fdm printing.
I failed multiple dexterity checks trying to bend & glue the photoetch shuttlebay part for my 1/537 #Reliant Miranda Class ship build, so I gave up and modeled a much more accurate part. I think I can make little clear inserts for the light strips as well. #Miniatures

iRobot's software & mapping is so bad that our 3 year old Braava is effectively useless. It leaves its dock, does 15 wheelies in place (why??), make a b-line to a corner nook where it gets stuck, and upon being placed back in the center of the room, just gives up and returns to its dock.
Fun thing about microbursts & monsoons in Tucson is you discover all of your roof leaks at once. We have two. Maybe re-sealing hvac ductwork just something that has to be done yearly.
Having your photo selected for an Uber Eats menu item is a weird dopamine hit for the modern era.
The next trend in crappy real estate photography: hdr sliders up to 1000x
A great practical effect too!
My wife is partaking in a D&D one shot at a work retreat, and as the Spouse With a 3D Printer™ I made everyone’s hero forge characters. Removing the supports took awhile so I could only do a base coat, but definitely appreciate the urge to paint and detail these things. Maybe soon… #miniatures
Both but also definitely the latter, just looking at the WoTW where Mike repeated the clip of Rich Evans saying "I hope this is a children's su***de video" like 12 times.
Ok, I’m pumped for this. Reminds me of all of the Activison and Simom & Schuster Star Trek games of the late 90’s (Starship Creator, Armada, Elite Force..). youtu.be/SrbfGbfelvY?...

Tuck Buckford remains one of my favorite Colbert characters, but I don’t think he has the stamina for that every night 😅
Proud of my district.
Democrat Adelita Grijalva has easily won the special election for #AZ07, but her margin of victory may not be known for several days in a state where much of the vote is cast before E-Day. She leads 71-28 with AP estimating 80% counted: Harris carried this Tucson-based district by a 60-38 margin.

There’s a cool laser thing! That’s… that’s all I can remember.
Apple's Liquid Glass design system feels like a Windowblinds/Stardock Win XP theme I would have downloaded from DeviantArt back in 2004 and used for a week before moving on. It's kind of cool but there's no way I won't get tired of it.

This is buried at the end of Elizabeth's thread but it is such a key point: "people want their candidates to fight for them, not step on their necks trying to reach across the aisle."
Brad Lander's comment during the NYC primary that people view Dems as either "fight" or "fold" people is the best characterization of how lose -- this is a fold strategy, and people want their candidates to fight for them, not step on their necks trying to reach across the aisle.
