As someone who has had a near complete lack of smell for about ten years now please remind me what the various TCGs smell like. This is nostalgic information that is of utmost importance.

(I also have never smelled magic cards, or any cards really)

Companies like this forge their way by charging 60, 70, and 80 dollars for a game that’s gonna sell millions of copies. They make their money without the aggressive microtransactions and ads. EA themselves are fond of the DLC approach, and buying all the DLC for Sims 4 is $1500.

It’s true not everyone is willing to donate, but there are also games that have thrived off of donations through Kickstarter, Patreon support, and other means. It wasn’t necessarily stating that these are what they should do, but rather listing alternatives to microtransactions and aggressive ads.

‘Kill how games work’ is shorthand for “we’ll make less money’ and honestly between buying virtual currencies and the egregious advertising plugs that most free to play games have, it’s practically double-dipping. Just make a game, a good one. Link to a merch store. Link to a donations page.

I think I get this, a lot of my work training assignments are audio/text mix and I tend to just disassociate until the speaking is done so I can read in peace.

They need to just give us an NPC who swaps balls for you, even if without return. I would gladly go catch a legendary in a quick ball if I could then swap it to a Premier.
